Cards Re-distributed in MotoE as Rain Hits the Grid and Red Flag Sees Race 2 Shortened
Drama in Assen for the second electric race of the weekend as Tech3 E-Racing’s riders Hector Garzo and Alex Escrig saw the departure of the MotoE race being delayed due to a heavy rain coming just in time for the event. The start was initially scheduled at 15:30 local time (GMT+2) but was pushed back until the rain calmed down, for six laps instead of the usual eight.
Garzo is Back in the Top 5, Escrig Finishes 14th in Assen
It was race day already today in Assen in the electric class as the TT Circuit Assen was hosting the fourth Grand Prix of the 2022 FIM MotoE Enel World Cup. At the end of a rainy Friday which saw its schedule disrupted by the rain, Hector Garzo managed to get a P7 grid position while teammate Alex Escrig was starting at the back of the grid in P15.
Garzo Improves Qualifying and Grabs P7, Escrig to Start from P14
The FIM MotoE Enel World Cup resumed in Assen today for the fourth of the six rounds scheduled for 2022. Half way through the season, Hector Garzo sat eighth in the standings while rookie Alex Escrig was eleventh. Both have had a challenging first three rounds, sometimes under expectations, and were eager to make the most of the three remaining.
