Feeling a lot better than on Friday, Tech3 E-Racing’s Lukas Tulovic started the second day of the first round of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup with a strong third position in FP3 today, which gave him a lot of confidence for the first E-Pole of the 2021 season. On his single flying lap, the German nearly managed to break into the 1:47 mark and ended up second, only 0.234 seconds behind the pole setter.

Following his crash in FP2 on Friday, the Tech3 E-Racing team showed a great effort to rebuild the bike and Corentin Perolari managed to regain his confidence aboard his Energica Ego Corsa machine during Free Practice three this morning. In his first ever E-Pole, the young Frenchman was 0.453 seconds quicker than on Friday and landed a decent P13, which means he’ll start his first MotoE race tomorrow at 10:00 local time from the fifth row of the grid.

“I’m very happy to be back in the front row. It’s the same starting position like last year, second. But I have to admit, it was not easy to do this weekend. I had a tough start on Friday and felt so bad due to my allergy, so the results didn’t come and we couldn’t try several things on the bike.”

“Therefore, we came back to the setup we had during the test here and it was very good. I could improve to third position in FP3 and do this incredible lap in E-Pole. Thanks to my team! We did a fantastic job during the winter tests and I feel pretty confident to start the first race tomorrow.”

“This morning, I had to check the bike again after my crash in turn four yesterday. In the end, I felt pretty good and could regain a bit of feeling. Yet, my first E-Pole today was quite difficult, because I have to get used to be fast in only one flying lap, like straight out of the box. In the end, I thought my time could have been a bit better, but I’m still quite satisfied with this first Qualifying in MotoE.”
