The Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland comes to an end for the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship as Tech3 E-Racing wraps up round six of the season with their two riders on the front row, including a pole position, two second places, one third place and a top 5 in the races. It is fair to write that both Nicholas Spinelli and Alessandro Zaccone did the job this weekend, taking home 67 points all together!
Race 1
Starting from the pole position for the third consecutive time, Alessandro Zaccone was second after one lap behind Oscar Gutierrez who had taken the race lead. Behind him was Hector Garzo, not far putting pressure. Eventually Garzo made his moves to grab the lead in the next lap, and with Gutierrez given long lap penalties, Zaccone’s second position was the one that he retained until the checkered flag. Another podium for the Italian! Teammate Nicholas Spinelli also joined the party on the podium, as the #29, already winner of three races this season, claimed third of race 1. Finally a great result for Spinelli who had been going through a few difficult rounds since Catalunya.
Race 2
Drama in race 2 as drops of rain started to fall right on time when lights were about to go out. But not small drops, a BIG rainfall, with thunders and lightings, the whole thing. That obviously delayed the start, and the electric class had to wait for an hour until the storm stopped. The race was declared wet as Zaccone and Spinelli returned to the grid. Lights out on a damp track, and we saw Alessandro dropping a couple of positions as he tried to be cautious in the first corners. He exited lap 1 in P4, and dropped to P5 a few laps later, a position he retained as he secured points again! On the other side, Spinelli appeared more confident in these track conditions, and he claimed second of race 2, making it podium number 2 of the day!
A great weekend overall for the Tech3 E-Racing squad, now standing second in the teams’ championship! The electric class will head on a summer break, and return to Austria at the Red Bull Ring, as just two rounds remain in a still quite open championship!

"I am so happy with our weekend, we got back the confidence after a few difficult rounds, and in general we worked well with my team. Two podiums today on a circuit that I enjoy a lot, so thank you to all for the support, let’s recover well for Austria!"

"Another good weekend for us, on a track that I am not such a big fan of. We took the pole position, finishing second of race 1 very close to the winner. In race 2 we struggled more in the wet, because I am usually not the best at the start in these conditions, and we were reduced to eight laps, so it was not that easy. Anyway, we secured top 5, a decent result. We head to the summer break with a lot of motivation because we are all close in the championship standings, so it was important to take points this weekend."

"It was a great weekend in Sachsenring for the Tech3 E-Racing team! We were delighted to see both Alessandro Zaccone and Nicholas Spinelli qualify together on the front row, with Alessandro scoring his third consecutive pole position, which is a great achievement. Race 1 was really good, with both guys on the podium! Unfortunately the weather was not on our side for race 2, and it started to rain on the grid. We started race 2 with a lot of delay and a damp track, so the conditions were tricky, especially because we had not tried the rain tyres at all, but I was very impressed with the quality of Michelin rain tyres! Nicholas seemed comfortable in the rain, he was putting pressure on the race leader, lapping faster than him at some point, but I think that he was very clever towards the end and decided to settle for second, which we are very happy with, and Alessandro took P5. Great results overall, thank you to both riders for a great weekend, let’s enjoy the break, let’s all have a good rest, and come back fully fit for Austria. We are second in the team’s championship, so everything is still open, and we will give everything in the last two rounds to try lifting that trophy in Misano!"
