#AustrianGP - August 17, 2024

An exciting Saturday of MotoE™ action took place at the Red Bull Ring with Tech3 E-Racing’s Alessandro Zaccone and Nicholas Spinelli ready to take the bull by the horns. Respectively starting from 8th and 12th on the grid, Zaccone finished 6th and 5th of the two races, while Spinelli claimed 11th of race 1, before improving to an 8th position in the final race.

Race 1
Starting from the 8th position on the grid after a mixed-Friday in Austria, Alessandro Zaccone managed to stick with the front group as lights of race 1 went out at 12:15 local time. In one lap, he had gained two positions to P6, before he progressed to P5 behind Oscar Gutierrez. He tried to hold on the rhythm but we saw him lose ground, dropped to P6 and eventually he lost the front group. Zaccone finished 6th in the first race. Meanwhile, Nicholas Spinelli, starting from P12 after completely missing out on qualifying yesterday, could not do much better than an 11th place.

Race 2
In race 2, Tech3 E-Racing's riders were back at it for the final race of the penultimate round of the 2024 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship. As lights went out, Zaccone took another decent start and progressed by two positions to P6 behind Mattia Casadei, a position that he fought for and maintained almost the entire race. Late drama from Gutierrez allowed Alessandro to finish in the top 5, while Nicholas Spinelli found better solutions in the afternoon, as he managed to make his way to P8.

Tech3 E-Racing will head to the final round of the season in two weeks, in Misano. The team currently stands third in the championship, with Zaccone 5th and Spinelli 6th. Let's try finishing this season together in the best way possible!

"Overall, it has been a difficult weekend for us in Austria, because we were losing quite a lot of time at the acceleration, and it was difficult to battle with the faster guys. Anyway, we finished P6 and P5, we took important points for the championship, and I think it was the best I could get this weekend, I pushed every lap and felt on the limit a lot. We have one last round in Misano at home for me, so I am fully focused on this one, and we will try to end the season in the best way possible."

Race 1: 11th

Race 2: 8th

Championship: 6th

"Difficult weekend, the problems continued for us. In the first race, we weren’t feeling good, the pace was bad, but race 2 was better. P8 is not what I want, so I am not happy at all. Next is Misano, a track that I like a lot, and where I won last year, so I am looking forward to it, and hopefully we will have a great weekend. Thanks to my team!"

"Solid weekend overall here in Spielberg for the Tech3 E-Racing team. To be truly honest with ourselves, we were never in a position to fight for the top 3 positions. Still, Alessandro Zaccone put his head down, qualified ok, and did two solid races in P6 and P5. He did the best he could do, and scored strong points that allowed him to head to the final round at his home GP 5th in the championship. The story was different for Nicholas Spinelli who never felt at ease on his Ducati, but he did the best he could. All the efforts of the weekend allow us to stand third in the teams’ championship, 5th in the riders’ championship for Alessandro, and 6th for Nicholas, so let’s hope that we will be again in the position to fight for podiums in Misano for the season finale of the 2024 MotoE World Championship."
