#SanMarinoGP - September 6, 2024

The ultimate round of the 2024 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship kicked off on Friday in Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, as the electric class will see its champion be crowned on Saturday. It was a home round for local boy Alessandro Zaccone in San Marino, and the Italian was eager to finish his season with Tech3 E-Racing on a high. Nicholas Spinelli was playing at home too, looking to close 2024 in the best way possible.

Fifth in the championship heading to the last round of 2024, Alessandro Zaccone was 24-point clear from the 4th spot of Oscar Gutierrez, and everything was possible for the #61 on home turf. The electric class arrived to the practice sessions with already decent track time after completing their final test of the season on Thursday afternoon, and that allowed Zaccone to be competitive very quickly. Third of Practice 1, the Italian made the effort in P2 to finish fastest of the combined sessions with a new all-time lap record at Misano in 1'39.925, one that was beaten later on qualifying. His teammate Nicholas Spinelli struggled a bit more in the morning sessions, and his best lap in 1'40.557 saw him ending 10th, forced to go through qualifying 1 later in the afternoon.

The last MotoE™ qualifying shootout of 2024 started at 17:05, with Nicholas Spinelli on the entry list. Race winner  last season, the Tech3 E-Racing managed to pull a very late 1’40.416 in Q1 to get himself a last second Q2 ticket, alongside potential world champion Hector Garzo who topped the session 0.341 seconds ahead. In Q2, fresh from his previous session, Spinelli was quick to set the benchmark in 1’40.118 taking the provisional lead, but Granado and Casadei were quick to answer. Soon after, in-form Zaccone joined the fight for the final pole position at stake of the season, in third with less than 2 minutes to go with a 1’39.967. A late effort from Jordi Torres saw Zaccone being kicked off Parc Fermé, and he will line up in 4th on tomorrow's grid, while teammate Spinelli's best lap will see him line up in 7th.

Don't miss the two final races of an epic MotoE™ season, with Tech3 E-Racing's Zaccone and Spinelli looking to finish 2024 on a high!

"I am happy with the day overall, we did two very good practice sessions this morning, but I feel disappointed with the qualifying results. We did not have any slipstream to help us, when all the other riders set their times with one, so when you do your session on your own, you end up missing one little tenth to get the pole position. It is what it is. I feel quite strong anyway, and we are ready to fight with the front group, and hopefully do something good at home."

"Not an easy day, but we improved our pace and feeling, session after session. I was happy to go through Q1 after pushing a lot. In Q2, I tried to give my best, but I came a bit short. P7 is not great, but we will do everything we can in both races tomorrow to try finishing the season on a high."
