Final clap for the 2024 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship as the electric class saw its champion, Hector Garzo, be crowned on Saturday in race 1. The San Marino round marks the end of a great season for the Tech3 E-Racing squad, who saw local boy Alessandro Zaccone on the podium one more time as he finished 2nd overall. Nicholas Spinelli finished 8th of the first race, and in the second race, Zaccone could not do better than P8, while his teammate closed the season with an 11th place.
Race 1
Qualified in 4th, Italian Alessandro Zaccone was eager to finish the season with his two year-team on a high on his home turf. The #61 took a decent start, holding his grid position in the first lap, before moving up to a provisional podium the next lap behind Kevin Zannoni. The in-form Italian progressed to first, leaving Zaccone chasing poleman Mattia Casadei. Positions settled, until race leader Zannoni made a mistake, gifting Alessandro Zaccone a P2-finish and a podium at home, while Nicholas Spinelli, who had started from P7, struggled to get into a decent rhythm and finished race 1 in 10th, with still one shot to go later on in the afternoon.
Race 2
Lights of the final MotoE race of 2024 went out at 16:10, with all riders giving their all for the final dance. Zaccone dropped to 5th after one lap, and somehow appeared to be struggling a bit more with his pace, while the front was faster than the earlier race. The Italian dropped another position in lap 5, and two more in the final laps, as we saw him cross the line in 8th. On his side, Spinelli completed the race in 11th, a disappointing result for the #29 who did not show his potential in this final leg.
That’s a wrap for the 2024 MotoE season for Tech3 E-Racing! It was a great season, with a total of 4 victories and another six podiums between Alessandro Zaccone and Nicholas Spinelli. Zaccone finished 5th of the championship with a total of 179 points, and Spinelli took the 7th place with 149 points. That places Tech3 E-Racing fourth in the teams’ championship with 328 points, just 29 points from the team crowned champion. Thank you to everyone involved in this 2024 season, we had fun!

"It is nice to finish the season with a podium at home. I would have liked to do better in race 2, but I was not able to fight like this morning. It was a great championship with us, with a victory in Assen, podiums and pole positions! The target was the top 3, but in the end we finished 5th, which is still very good. I would like to say a huge thank you to the whole team, it has been an amazing year together. It was the last race with them, so just thank you to everyone involved in Tech3."

"Difficult weekend in Misano, with many problems on the bike. We saw some light in qualifying, but in the races, we were not good. I am sad to finish the season that way, but we had many good moments, with three victories to remember. I want to thank my whole team for this season together, and Hervé Poncharal. It was a good year!"

"An end is always sad, so for sure it is a bit sad to send our last 2024 press release! We were really happy with Alessandro Zaccone’s podium at his home Grand Prix in race 1, but although he was in the front group in race 2, he had a few issues that denied him the podium. It was a great year together, we had a victory in Assen, and I am really happy about the work done. In addition to being a great rider, he is a top man, always with a positive attitude and a true team player. Thank you for this season Alessandro. On Nicholas Spinelli’s side, he remains a big question mark for me. When we signed him last year, we were convinced that he would fight for the title. He did not disappoint us at the beginning, with an incredible start, three victories in two rounds. But in Montmelo, things went wrong, he crashed two times, broke a finger and he was never the same Nicholas from that moment. It is a real shame, because he has some incredible potential, but the second part of the year was not at the level we were expecting. Thanks to both riders, we finished 4th in the teams championship, P5 and P7 in the riders championship, so I would like to thank both riders, and finish by addressing a huge thank you to the whole crew who worked really hard and well together!"
